Pros & Cons of Consultants (i.e. non-FTEs)

  • Experience from how others do it (how others have succeeded or failied)
  • Can deliver faster (typically in days) compared to hiring someone (FTE) that delivers hopefully within a few months or year’s
  • No HR-related overhead and just pay for the services actually delivered (cost + upkeep = revenue)

  • Follow the all the terms of the agreement (it is followed to the point)
  • Nothing is free. The cost should match the benefit is not hidden in the organization
  • May not be part of the social activities and be treated as an outsider
